Collin Morikawa downs pint from Claret Jug as Californian drinks in Open success

Speaking after his historic win the American said: “I think when you make history – and I’m 24-years-old – it’s hard to grasp and it’s hard to take in.”

The Open Champion will now turn his attention to the Olympic games, as he makes the trip to Tokyo alongside fellow Team USA members, Justin Thomas, Bryson DeChambeau and Xander Schauffele at next week’s Men’s Olympic Golf event.

The event will get underway at Tokyo’s Kasumigaseki Country Club next week, with the first round of play beginning on Wednesday, July 28 at 11.30pm BST.
